PLANNING FOR THE MICHIGAN HOMEBREW FESTIVAL and MICHIGAN BEER CUP!
Sorry for all of the confusion about this month’s meeting. The 4th of July holiday caught a lot of us off guard! When I started mentioning other dates to some of the Mashers indirectly, they all were responding that they would not be able to attend, which is why our next meeting will be on THURSDAY, JULY 9TH at the Glass Academy, 25331 Trowbridge St (near S. Gulley Rd), Dearborn, MI 48124 starting at 7PM.
The fine folks of the Glass Academy have opened their doors for us to have a meeting (and share some homebrew) with them while they show us why they are some of the finest glass artists in the country. Their studio is normally closed during the month of July each year, so this is a special opportunity.
They have even wanted to offer us this deal… They will have glassblowers there blowing mugs that will be for sale if interested, and for the first six people that email me by Tuesday, July 7th can have an opportunity to design their very own ONE OF A KIND custom beer mug and watch it be made there for only $150!
For this meeting, we are encouraged to not only bring homebrew to share with everyone (including our hosts and the glassblowers), but I’m personally asking all of us to bring some food to share and pass with everyone! (Due to all of the things we need to nail down, we are going to postpone our beer style tasting.)
Speaking of homebrew, we are a little more than a month away from the Michigan Homebrew Festival in Holly, Michigan! We have a lot of work to do and very little time to do it. The club site has been reserved, but we need a theme and we need to start assigning responsibilities.
Also, you only have until July 12th to register and submit your homebrews for the Michigan Beer Cup! I’m very competitive, and I really want the Mashers want to make an extremely strong showing and MAKE A STATEMENT to everyone else! The only way we can do that is by YOU submitting your BEST HOMEBREWS to this event! Rules and registration is found on their website. GO REGISTER NOW!
We also need to confirm our membership so that we can renew our homebrew club insurance. If you have not filled out a membership form for this year, go here (on our website) to get one and fill it out before the meeting and bring it with you.
A reminder for those of you who attended the National Homebrewers Conference… we’re hoping you will provide those of us who couldn’t make it with a report of your ‘Adventures in Homebrewing’… (See what I did there? LOL)
None of this can be done without your support and your participation! As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
I really do hope to see you there!!! Cheers!
