Latest information on the Michigan Beer Cup – PLEASE READ!

The 2016 Michigan Beer Cup registration Opens Soon.

Hello again, we are happy to welcome you to the 2016 Michigan Beer Cup.  This years competition will have a few changes from last years competition, the primary changes have been noted below:

  1. 2015 BJCP Guidelines will be used.
  2. A new competition hosting site will be used to collect entrant information. To access the registration site select the following link.               
  3. The Wild Card Clash will not continue this year, do to the fact that the new hosting site does not support the functionality.

Judging and Competition Dates

Once again the judging and sorting will occur at the Rochester Mills Production facility in Auburn Hills.

Registration Dates:

Entry registration opens on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 and closes Friday July 8, 2016.

Bottle Turn-in Dates and Locations:

Visit the Michigan Beer Cup website for drop-off locations, additional all locations will be added.  Drop-off will be accepted starting 6/26/2016 and end on 7/8/2016.

Entry Pick-up Dates:

All entries will be picked up from drop-off locations starting July 9, 2016, Late entries will only be accepted at the sorting location, providing your participating in the sort.

Early Pick-up Date:

The competition will arrange to have an early entry pick-up for the Traverse City area  on the weekend of July 2nd.  An official date and location will be posted on the website once it has been determined.

Sort Date:

The bottle sorting date is scheduled for Tuesday July 12, 2016 at 6:30.  If you are interested in helping to organize these bottles please contact Daniel Frechette @

NOTE: Late entries will be accepted on the sort date, however you will be required to help sort the entries in order to submit your entries.

Judging Dates:

The Beer cup is in need of judges and stewards for this years competition.  If you have the time to come out and judge we would truly appreciate your efforts.  Please visit thewww.michiganbeercup.com and select the registration button to register yourself as a Judge or Steward.

Following the Final Judging all judges will invited to the Rochester Mills Oktoberfest release party 7:00 pm in the evening.

2016 Michigan Homebrew Festival Awards Ceremony.

This years awards ceremony will be held at the new home of the Michigan Homebrew Festival, Camp Agawam located in Orion Charter Township.   The ceremony is scheduled for Saturday August 20th sometime around 1:00 P.M. You are all welcome to come out for the day, or stay for the weekend and enjoy all the festival has to offer.  For campsite availability,  visit the Michigan Homebrew Festival website at www.mhfsite.com and select the “Store Front” tab.
